Many companies that have products for direct selling (which covers many new home businesses) have their own websites for their reps. The problem with these sites is that you can't really do very much to make your site stand out from the rest. Others will tell you that millions have been made without a personal and that may have been true in the past but there is great competition every day for web traffic and search engines are constantly coming up with new requirements to keep information flowing, fresh, and relative.
While these reasons may not seem like such a big deal now, over time you will find that they matter tremendously. Every day the world is moving to a more virtual society. People do their banking; buy movie tickets, plan trips, and order take out online. We even do our window-shopping online; robbing yourself of that kind of exposure to potential customers is literally taking money out of your pockets each and every day. That is why you should, without a doubt, have a for your home business.
